Cash Seized Was Given By Devotee - Sai Trust

Puttaparthi, Jun 28: The Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust declared that the Rs 35 lac cash seized recently was money given by a devotee to a consultant for the construction of a Sai Baba memorial.

Addressing a press conference, trustee V Srinivasan said that financial transparency has been strictly followed and that the trust had filed all statutory returns. Donations recieved from devotees have been duly deposited in banks, he added.

He also said that Rs 9.75 crore has been paid as income tax.

Refuting any wrong doings, Srinivasan said that the trust had no connection to the recent cash seizure.

    Sai trust is not answarable to every tom dick & hary. No one knows the amount of work it dose, only the hospital, the university and water projects are highlighted. All people, who have published this report and who comment -vely here...please go and check in your respective cities the amount of activity takes place.

    How can you have the right to comment when you have not donated a single rupee to trust.

    On what basis do you call it "UNACCOUNTED"? And why do you call it "SO MUCH"? Mowadays, banks give personal loans of upto 50lakhs in a couple of days time. Please stop slandering!

    There is no provision for arresting a person when it is known that he has gifted huge amount to any trust.IT dept can issue a notice on him for source of income and verify his past IT filed returns. Instead he will get IT rebate for the donations to such trust.

    THE DEVOTEE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY THE IT FROM WHERE HE GOT SO MUCH OF UNACCOUNTED 35 LAC CASH ? THE DEVOTEE SHOULD BE ARRESTED IMMEDIATLEY AND INVESTGATION SHOULD BE DONE.
