Karkala: Fuming Cheetah Attack, Two Injured

Karkala, Jul 3: A furious cheetah (leopard) was found in Marne village, Ajekar  Kaduhole here on Saturday July 2 here and in the process of catching hold of the animal two persons sustained injuries.

Incident in detail

The cheetah was initially found in a gutter near the state highway at Kadu Hole on Saturday morning. Curious locals gathered in large numbers and the matter was informed to forest officials too who arrived at the spot. The cheetah was in a uneasy state with certain injuries in its body. It is assumed that it would have entered the village in search of food and on its way it would have met with vehicle accident which has resulted in the injury.

While the forest officials Chikka and A D Ponnappa tried to nest it, the infuriated cheetah attacked the duo, injured their hands and were immediately taken to the hospital.

Cheetah Taken to Pilikula Zoo

The injured animal was later taken to Pilikula zoo for treatment. After its recovery it would be either kept in Pilikula or would be left free in a forest, said the officials.
