Mumbai, Jul 6: Television actress and bride-to-be Ratan Rajput was all nerves a day before she decided to choose Delhi-based software engineer Abhinav Sharma (26) as her groom on television reality show Swayamwar-3 Ratan Ka Rishta on Imagine TV.

However, the couple has just decided to get engaged for now. They said that they would like to spend some time with each other before getting into the institution of marriage.

Ratan popularly known as Laali on the show 'Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo' had to choose to wed one of the final three contestants namely Deepak Pandit, Anupam Singh and Abhinav Sharma in the final episode of Ratan Ka Rishta.

The show that began on May 30 initially had 16 bachelors. After weekly eliminations, it had finally come to Ratan to choose one of the last three boys.

Ratan's swayamvar was a rather quiet affair comparing to the last three seasons.

Rakhi Sawant’s swayamvar that got a lot of eyeballs rolling  was followed by Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayenge in the second season that was equally dramatic and controversial.

The small screen actress said that the swayamvar was a serious issue for her, not just a gimmick. Ratan was not an aspiring actress all her life. she decided to take up acting after turning to theatre in Delhi where she had been to her sister's place. She added that she had decided to get settled soon after graduation.

The actress said that even after the swayamvar she would continue to pursue her career in acting.
