Bengaluru, Apr 22: Election commission which has kept strict vigil on the scams related to legislative assembly elections in the state, has confiscated Rs 72.30 lac on Friday.
In Nippani 23,880 litre liquor worth Rs 25 lac was confiscated, while gift items worth Rs 58.59 lac were confiscated at Shivajinagar. Rs 25 lac cash was seized from Chickpet. This information was provided by the election commission in its publication.
After the election code of conduct was implemented, so far Rs 80.23 crore cash, free gifts worth Rs 19.31 crore, 145.55 kg of gold valued at Rs 73.80 crore was seized. The total value of the seized goods and cash is Rs 245.76 crore.
13.94 lac liters of liquor valued at Rs 52.23 crore, 1084.03 kg narcotics worth Rs 16.10 crore, 727.45 kg of silverware worth Rs 77.87 crore are confiscated.
In total 1795 FIRs are registered. 69656 arms are deposited. 18 arms are confiscated. The licence of 20 arms is cancelled. 4529 cases are registered under CrPC. Undertaking is received from 7238 people. 12107 non-bailable warrants are issued.
