Now Two Minors Accuse Uttar Pradesh Cops of Rape

Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh), July 6 (IANS) : Two minor girls have alleged that they were raped by cops inside a police station in Uttar Pradesh, an official said Wednesday.

The two girls, aged around 14 years, alleged they were gangraped Tuesday inside Mauranipur police station.

According to the girls, they first approached two police constables after being harassed by some local youths near a railway station.

On the pretext of registering a complaint, the two policemen took the girls to the police station.

Later, the two cops along with their colleagues raped the girls.

Senior Superintendent of Police A. Satish Ganesh told reporters, "As of now, we cannot deny the charges made by the girls. It's a matter of investigation whether the crime took place inside the police station or outside."

"A probe has been ordered into the case. Strict action would be taken against those involved in the crime," he added.
