Mangaluru, April 24: A programme has been organised on April 26 at 4 pm at St Joseph the Worker Church, Vamanjoor, to celebrate the centenary of the missionary sisters of the Queen of the Apostles (SRA), which was born as a result of the unique vision and dream of the founder, Father Antonius Maria Bodewig, who was a missionary in India, said Provincial Superior Sister M Leena.
This organisation already has various hospitals in the country, providing medical facilities, helping the needy in society, and doing a great job of providing education through many educational institutions, she said.
The Bishop of Mangalore, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, will grace the event, accompanied by the Bishop of Shimoga, Dr Francis Serrao.
The superior general, Sr M Nandita Pereira SRA, will preside over the programme. Msgr Maxim L Noronha, Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese, Sr Rose Celine B S, superior general of congregation of Little Flower of Bethany, Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, provincial of Karnataka Jesuit Province, Fr James D’souza, parish priest of St Joseph the Worker Church, Vamanjoor, Fr Daniel Veigas OP, Episcopal Vicar for religious Mangalore diocese, former superior general, Sr Maria Goretti Quadros SRA, Sr Juliet Lobo SRA, former provincial superior, Charles Pais, vice-president, PPC of St Joseph the Worker Church, Vamanjoor and Sr Leena V J, convener of Queen of the Apostles will participate.
