Pakistan Forms Panel for 3G Licences' Policy


Islamabad, Jul 7 (IANS): Pakistan has formed a cabinet committee for the formulation of a policy to issue 3G mobile telephone licences.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Wednesday said the government has constituted the cabinet committee and every effort will be made to implement the policy during the current fiscal year.

There are over 90 million mobile phone users in Pakistan.

Gilani said the ministry of information technology has been directed to speed up work on modernisation of the telecom sector, Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
