UP Police Detain Azharuddin Following Moradabad Violence

Moradabad, Jul 7: Following clashes between villagers and policemen at Asaalat Nagar Member of Parliament Mohammad Azharuddin who tried to go to site has been taken into preventive custody lest any harm befalls him.

Deputy Inpector General of Moradabad Ashok Kumar was rushed to a hospital after getting injured in the head due to heavy stone pelting in the region on Wednesday july 6.

Villagers went berserk after policemen who were raiding houses in connection to a molestation case had allegedly entered a house and mis-handled the Holy Quran that was being read a young girl.

The villagers reportedly torched the police vehicles as well.
