Udupi, Apr 25: B L Verma, minister of state for development of northern region and cooperation, stated that Udupi's development will accelerate under the leadership of Yashpal Suvarna. He made this comment while seeking votes on foot from Ashirwad to Santhekatte.
Speaking at a public meeting, Verma also mentioned that India is progressing under the Modi government. "There was corruption in the government before 2014. Modi has put an end to corruption. The government in 2014 is vastly different from the present one," he added.
He commended Raghupathi Bhat for allowing Yashpal Suvarna to run for elections. Mumbai North Lok Sabha MP Gopal Shetty stated that Yashpal Suvarna is a household name in Udupi.
Candidate Yashpal Suvarna expressed the need for a double-engine government to return to Karnataka.
City BJP President Mahesh Takur, District BJP Vice President Suprasad Shetty, and former President of the Coastal Development Authority, Mattar Rathnaker Hegde, were also present.
