Kundapur: Festival of Vakwady Mahatobara Mahalingeshwara temple celebrated

Kundapur, Apr 26: The festival of Vakwady Mahatobara Mahalingeshwara temple was celebrated on April 25.

Kukke Subrahmanya temple seer Vidyaprasanna Theertha Sripada inaugurated the pandal in the evening. He said that devotees with clean hearts can pray here and obtain favours from the deity. Karnataka Rajyotsava award recipient businessman and management committee president Pravin Kumar Shetty chaired the programme.

Basrur Mahalingeshwara temple trustee B Appanna Hegde conveyed his best wishes. Ayurveda doctor Dr Vijay Manja gave a religious discourse. Trustee V Lakshmi Narayana Holla, Dharmastala rural development project B C Trust project officer Narayana Palan, Vedamurthi Subrahmanya Aithal and Krishna Aithal were present.

Vakwadi Praveen Kumar Shetty, Vedamurthi Subrahmanya Aithal, contractor Satyanarayana Shetty, Dyagala Mane Diwaker Shetty, auditor Chandrashekar Shetty, contractor Ranjith Kumar Shetty and other donors were felicitated.

Retired headmaster Venugopal Hegde welcomed and gave an introduction. Akshata Girish Aithal and teacher Sadananda Shetty compered the programme. Priest Girish Aithal rendered a vote of thanks. Various religious rituals were performed since the morning followed by meals in the afternoon. Aithal sisters conducted devotional music at 2 pm.

Kalasangama artistes performed ‘Shivadhoota Guliga’ drama directed by Vijayakumar Kodialbail in the evening. Rangapooje and Bali Utsava were also held.
