Beltangady: Unity of Billawas – Tough fight for BJP candidate Harish Poonja this time?

Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (MS)

Beltangady, Apr 27: The Congress has fielded Rakshith Shivaram as their candidate from the Beltangady legislative assembly constituency. He belongs to the dominant Billawa community. That is why, the Billawas are striving hard for his victory. It is said that victory will be tough this time around for BJP candidate and sitting MLA Harish Poonja.

Rakshith Shivaram is known for his social work. He had done his homework well with the intention of getting into the fray this election.

Harish Poonja has also done good work in his constituency. However, he has developed some opposition within the party also. Billawas also have forgotten their political affiliation and are united to make Rakshith, a candidate of their community victorious.

It is also said that individual stature of Rakshith and his family’s influence has paved way for Congress wave in the Beltangady legislative constituency contest.

Harish Poonja’s short temper and the letter he wrote to chief minister Basavaraj Bommai asking for transfer of forest officer Sandhya Sachin to Bidar have marred his stature.

Rakshith is responding to the drinking water problem in the constituency on priority basis. The residents of the constituency are appreciating the effort of Rakshith and are saying that he is getting work done, which should have been done by supplying water in tankers.

I like the way of Rakshith delivering speeches during his election canvass. He is not blaming opposite candidate , he is very careful while speaking about major community . He does make often visit to temple , mosque, churches etc . He is always upholding tulu language in his speech. In Belthangady old and big family dominating if they unite along with other OBC , muslim & christians turnout happens may be it becomes nightmare for BJP. But in a way that relates to the achievement of long-term Rakshith is giving clear message that he would be dangerous for BJP party in the future coming days.
