TV Channel Journalist Mugged in Delhi

New Delhi, July 7 (IANS) A journalist working in a news channel was Thursday mugged by three assailants in central Delhi's shopping and business hub Connaught Place, police said. The attackers were arrested.

Roshan Ali, Delhi bureau chief of Global News Network channel, was on his way to New Delhi Railway Station when the attack on him took place.

"I was walking through the subway near Janpath when suddenly I was attacked from behind. I was being choked with a piece of cloth and was thrown on the ground," Ali told IANS.

Ali said that no one came forward to help him despite seeing him struggling with the trio.

"They whipped out knives as soon as I cried for help and no one came forward to help me. They fled from the spot with my wallet," said Ali.

According to Ali, he called the police who took him to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, and after he got first aid, his complaint was registered.

"The three accused have been arrested and are said to be drug addicts," said a police officer.
