Udupi, Apr 29: “Artists have the unique power of keeping city landscape scenes with nature in memory all the time. This art should spread more,” said Dr Karkala Sharath Kumar, co-vice chancellor of MAHE.
Dr Sharath spoke after inaugurating ‘My Manipal’, an art exhibition presented by Dr Salvya S Raj, MD student of KMC Manipal on Friday.
Dr Sharath further said, “It is really appreciable that Dr Salvya is interested in art while studying. That too the water paintings done on Udupi and Manipal have given inspiration to collectors of paintings. Aditi Art gallery is giving encouragement to artists and art lovers. Let this encouragement continue in future also.”
Dean of KMC Dr Padmaraj Hegde unveiled My Manipal exhibition stickers. Dr Raviraj Acharya, HOD of medicine department unveiled special cards.
Administrative trustee of Aditi art gallery Dr Kiran Acharya welcomed the gathering. Artist Dr Salvya S Raj rendered vote of thanks.
The art exhibition will be open to public viewing from 11 am to 7 pm from April 29 to May 1.
