Bantwal, Apr 29: “The BJP had spoiled harmony in Bantwal during the term of Congress. They are spreading propaganda that peace will be disturbed if Congress comes to power,” said Congress candidate B Ramanath Rai. He was speaking in the election campaign at Kongrabettu Kelagina Pete, Bantwal Kasba on Saturday April 29.

“You know that I brought sufficient funds and did development. I am interested in development and not in vengeful politics,” he said.

“Mini Vidhan Soudha, KSRTC bus stand, Ambedkar Bhavan, park and other development works were done during my term. The road from Bantwal to Punjalkatte is constructed. The BJP could not develop even an inch beyond it. Vamadapadavu college and health centre should be seen to know my development. I was defeated last time due to false propaganda. Though I am not upset by the defeat, I am sad by the way I was defeated,” he said.

“Poor people are weeping now. Ramanath Rai should come back to wipe their tears,” said KPCC member Pius L Rodrigues.

“Development is possible if Congress wins. Ramanath Rai says that this is his last election. It is our responsibility to elect him,” said Bantwal block Congress president Baby Kunder.

KPCC leader Ashwani Kumar Rai, Chandraprakash Shetty, B H Khader, Vasu Poojary, Sadashiva Bangera, Janardhan Chendtimar, Chandrashekar Poojary, Abbas Ali, Pravin Bantwal, Pravin Jakribettu, Vishwanath Gowda, Riaz Bantwal, Mahabala Bangera, Nadumane Parameshwar Salian, Rajesh Rodrigues, Manohar, Lingappa Kulal, Nithin Dayananda, Narayana Nerambol, Ganesh Poojary, Venkappa Moolya, Sridhar Gowda, Rajiv Salian, Mahabala Nerambol, Gangayya, Udaya, Chandraprakash, Riaz, Riaz Hussain, Bashir Bastipadpu, Nasir and others were present.
