Puttur: Thief steals from seven shops; face captured by CCTV

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, May 1: A thief broke into seven shops on Bank Street of Uppinangady and stole goods on the night of Saturday.

The thief entered a shop selling gold and silver through the roof but could not open the safe locker, so only took some cash in the form of change kept in the drawer.

The thief then broke into a nearby medical shop through the roof and stole a mobile. After that, the thief entered a cloth shop in the same building and stole two bath towels.

The thief also broke into a hotel near Canara Bank, a furniture store, a general store, and a grocery on the same street and took whatever was available.

A high-priced watch was stolen from the furniture shop. All seven thefts were similar, and it is suspected that only one person was involved.

The photograph of the thief was clearly captured on CCTV, but he tried to change the direction of the camera when he entered every shop. However, his face was still captured by the camera.

Further investigations are being carried out by Uppinangady police.

What were the neighbouring people doing, when the thief looted seven shops in a single go, as most people are not able to sleep a wink 💤 due to the extreme heatwave! BTW, this young man might be a jholachap jobless fakir out of the 75% population in the country!!

There is a kahawat in Hindi:: "Ghode bech ke sona"; rightly as you said after listening to the mankibaath, the people around got so contended and relaxed that despite the heat they would have been dreaming in the deep sleep 😴🤣!⁸

Rudy sir, survey says so !! If you go out in the evenings Rudy sir, vehicles will be plenty on the road. As far as i saw, every house has 2/3 vehicles....2 bikes/1car, 2 cars/1 bike, 3 bikes or more than that. Sunday evenings if you see, new new cars/well maintained cars are parked in front of kadri park or ply on the road continuously. Whe i look at the number, i doubt, people are not distracted by the raise in petrol and diesel. I am given to understand through one Business Analyst of a reputed food delivery company, hotels/ice cream parlours are running full it seems. Today, being 1st of may, riders were not available. Thosr who have BPL, they are only more rich and have vehicles. Houses are small/tiled ones. Which survey to believe tell me !!! Tell me who is poor ? Where is poor ???
