Udupi, May 1: "Congress has selected a person who has absolutely no knowledge of politics as the candidate. BJP is the party which has won with the majority of seats. I am confident that the victory of Yashpal Suvarna is definite this time. Even though Congress workers have officially not joined BJP, they are working for Yashpal Suvarna," said Pramod Madhwaraj in a news conference at district media centre here on Monday, May 1.

Responding to the statement that he is fishing, he said that he has no time fishing as BJP has sent him on tour. "I have known D K Shivakumar since 1971. He used to visit our home when my mother was the minister. How was his financial condition then? He has announced his official assets as worth Rs 1,400 crore the other day. We do not know his unofficial assets. The 6.5 crore people of the state know from where D K Shivakumar has come. Fishing is nobler than having a kingdom with looted wealth," he added.

Regarding Rahul Gandhi's interaction with fishermen, he said that Rahul Gandhi had three interactions with fishermen. "I was the translator for the two earlier interactions. The manner B K Hariprasad translated this time is known to everybody. When Rahul Gandhi said that no fish was caught in the net, B K Hariprasad said that there was a huge catch. There is no need to attach value to the interactions by Rahul Gandhi," he concluded.
