Aligarh, Jul 9: Despite heavy rains, villagers and Congress leaders all swarmed in huge numbers at the Kisan Mahapanchayat marking the end of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi’s padyatra on Friday July 9.
Even though heavy showers had damaged the water proof tent where the young leader addressed the assembly, village flocked to the massive Nomaish Ground once the rains stopped.
Villagers arrived in buses and trucks to the venue amid tight security.
Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid, Union Ministers Sachin Pilot and Jitin Prasad and state unit president Rita Bahuguna Joshi were among those present.
