Kerala Sex Scam: Ex-Naval Officer Arrested, Girl Identifies Eight Accused

Kochi, Jul 9: Two more arrests have been made in connection with the case of sexual abuse of a minor by nearly hundred people that was reported last week. With this, the total number of arrests stands at 55.

One of the two arrested is 70-year-old retired naval officer Rajan Nair, who was also the girl's neighbour in Paravoor.

The other is a young businessman from Palani in Tamil Nadu.

On Friday July 8, the girl identified all eight accused brought before her by police. Five more will be brought for identification soon, sources said. Those identified include a PWD contractor, a CPM secretary and a film producer.

A retired government doctor and a woman were also arrested.

The teenage girl had alleged that she had been sexually abused by nearly 100 men, and that her father, a small-time actor in Malayalam films, had exploited her first and then let some others in the industry use her too.

Her father is among the 55 arrested so far. Police are on the lookout for other accused.

    No need of investigation. Just kill these ******. It has become regular in Kerala now-a-days. I feel bad about being called a keralite for even accused can become a minister there just because he belongs a minority community.
