Islamabad, Jul 10 (IANS): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani says he does not mind sitting in the opposition benches as he has "no lust for power" and wants to just work for the people.
Gilani said in Lahore that it makes no difference to him whether he is in the government or in the opposition as he wants to do public service.
He said it was not necessary that one should be a prime minister or sit on the treasury side to serve the masses.
"I don't mind to sit on opposition benches in the parliament, as I have no lust for power but my motto is to work for the betterment of the people of Pakistan," the Associated Press of Pakistan quoted him as saying.
Gilani was sworn in as prime minister in March 2008.
