Mangaluru, May 7: Mohiudeen Bava, the JD(S) candidate for the Mangaluru North constituency, stated that if elected, his top priority would be to bring in more industries to generate employment opportunities for locals, in accordance with the Sarojini Mahish report.

Bava made these remarks while unveiling his election manifesto at Hotel A J Grand in the city on Saturday.

He further added, "Industries failing to provide 75% employment to locals will be shut down. I have not accepted any donations from companies. For us, employment holds greater significance than the presence of industries."

Bava outlined several development plans, stating, "A new Nada office will be constructed in Suratkal. We will ensure the provision of essential infrastructure, including an underground drainage system and a reliable drinking water supply. Additionally, we will establish a playground with a turf pitch and parks similar to Kadri Park in the areas of Suratkal, Gurupur, and Kavoor."

He continued, "An indoor stadium will be built on the 1.10 acres of reserved land near KPT. Separate Nada offices will be established for Kavoor, Pacchanady, Marakada, Kunjathbail, Konchady, Kulur, and Kodical areas. We will work towards finding a permanent solution to address the health issues faced by residents living near the Pacchanday dump yard when it catches fire."

B M Farookh, Sadashiva, Mohammed Kunhi, Vasanta Poojary, Iqbal, and Akshith Suvarna were also present during the event.
