Beltangady: Distributing cash late night – BJP town panchayat vice-president arrested

Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (MS)

Beltangady, May 10: The vice president of BJP town panchayat was caught red-handed by election commission officials while distributing cash to the public late in the night on Tuesday May 9.

Jayananda Gowda was caught red-handed by former Congress MLA Vasant Bangera while he was distributing cash in Kellaguthu Colony.

The BJP leaders were distributing money in cars that did not bear registration number plates. They were also caught by former MLA Vasant Bangera and handed over to the police.

It may be recalled, earlier on Monday, a video related to an incident went viral on the social media where BJP candidate of Beltangady constituency Harish Poonja was accused of enticing voters with cash during house-to-house campaigning. It is heard that Poonja and his team offered Rs five lac to the residents of a Dalit colony of Ashoknagar when they went there to seek votes. In addition, he also promised the Dalits of building houses and providing them with RTC in their colony. Locals, who got angry at Harish Poonja, gheraoed him and exchanged heated words with his team members. It is said that Harish and his followers escaped from the spot as soon as the locals began gheraoing them.

The BJP starting from the very top have defiled the model code of conduct throughout but I’ll bet the EC is absolutely toothless to take any action. They take action only on the helpless opposition leaders. Sad state of democracy.

It is better not to vote for any party believing that it is YOUR RIGHT, as the law is in the hands of ruling BJP and this Poonja will still move around scot free when he is accused and held distributing black money, and whereas our Law and as well the BJP supremo will not have any comments to give. These are the same guys who came house to house asking to vote for them. One must ask, WHY? Why all this hypocrisy when one knows in the end nothing will change in Indians or in India. Everything will happen for the worst. There is law but it is biased or not implemented! Take for example when BJP came to power in 2014, the first thing the PM nullified the existing currency notes, thus giving access to dump all the black money in the banks without questioning the source, and change it for white money, the Governor of RBI resigned, the cooking gas subsidy was nullified, the SeniorCitizens travel travel discount was nullified, and taxes were divided as State GST and Center GST from 5% to 32%, whereas earlier there was only one VAT14%, and the list can go on. But Indian citizens should work on their own discretion and caution. Simply voting for any party will not put food on your table or pay your bills or taxes. Get real!

Utilisation of 40%. Shared down to lower rank officers to buy votes. Shame. First Congress had to fight for liberation of the nation, tben build it from scratch to come to this level and hand it over to BJP after 70 years. Our hard earned taxes finally end up with such corrupt party members to buy votes to build corrupt government again. Shame...

This is pure insult to the democracy and to every citizen of our land. Furthermore whoever, irrespective of party, is distributing cash is buying voters rights. Cash is definitely coming from corruption. Its serious offence and need to be punished seriously to restore faith in system. I hope media will keep track of these serious offences and update us how legally these offenders are punished.
