PM Directs Mukul Roy to Visit Guwahati Train Tragedy Site

New Delhi, Jul 11: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday July 11 directed Minister of State for Railways Mukul Roy to visit the site of the Guwahati-Puri Express tragedy in Assam a day after a blast took place near Rangia on Sunday July 10.

Six coaches of the train derailed following the blast injuring at least 50 passengers are reportedly injured were injured as six coaches of Guwahati-Puri Express derailed following the blast.

Roy said that he had been waiting for the Prime Minister's order to visit the site.

In the absence of the cabinet minister, Prime Minister holds the portfolio of railways.
