Can Siddaramaiah deny his role in collapse of coalition govt, asks BJP leader Dr K Sudhakar

Bengaluru, May 17 (IANS): In a setback to Siddaramaiah who is staking claim for Karnataka Chief Minister's post, former minister and BJP leader Dr K. Sudhakar on Wednesday asserted that the veteran's role in collapse of Congress-JD(S) coalition government can't be ignored.

Sudhakar had resigned as an MLA and joined BJP along with 17 others resulting in the collapse of the Congress and JD(S) coalition government in 2019. His statement assumes significance in the present political scenario, where crucial talks are being held in Delhi to declare the Chief Minister.

"During the JD(S)-Congress coalition government in 2018, whenever MLAs went to the then Coordination Committee Chairman Siddaramaiah with their concerns, he used to express his helplessness and say that he has no say in the government and that works in his constituency and district itself are stalled," Sudhakar explained.

He further recalled that Siddaramaiah used to ask the MLAs to wait till 2019 Lok Sabha polls saying come what may he won't allow H.D. Kumaraswamy-led coalition government to continue even for a single day after Lok Sabha polls, Sudhakar claimed.

"Ultimately some of us had to inevitably quit Congress and join BJP to protect karyakartas and supporters in our constituencies," Sudhakar quoted Siddaramaiah as saying.

"Can Siddaramaiah deny the fact that he had no role, implicitly or explicitly, in this move by Congress MLAs?" Sudhakar asked.

The statements have created a debate in the state political corridors. Sources explain that Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar is vehemently presenting before the Congress high command Siddaramaiah's role in collapse of the Congress-led coalition government.

Inside story is after HDK became CM he started treating Siddu as a peon. Siddu was also jealous of HDK. Further he expected Congress will win 2019 LS elections at least in Karnataka following which he will demand for reelection in the state. But the tides turned in favour of BJP. Actually Siddu desired the fall of HDK Govt.

The suspense has come to an end. Siddu is going to be the CM for sure as per the latest report. Not a good news for DKS, as he will just be an MLA. DKS wanted to be the CM desperately, so all the 18 cases against him would be put on hold or swept under the carpet. Now being powerless , he wont be able to do that. Siddu too would ensure that DKS is engaged full time in his own quagmire of legal hurdles, than involving in the day to day affairs of Karnataka. Perhaps Siddu may even contest for another term, as per public 'demand'!

He is only saying THOSE WERE THE DAYS. Then there was problem and so we left. So, now can we return ? if we can enjoy the THOSE WERE THE DAYS again ? There is no harm checking back as the 50 years of rule by the kings does not look anywhere practical. South is Mukt and is peaceful now. The lost horses are not traded. Only winning horses can change stables and race, the lost ones lick the wounds. Some noise is always better to keep democracy live as there is not much news or activity now...

Well try Sudhakar... You are becoming expert in playing politics like BJPigs, after joining them. It looks you got Supaari from high command to politically finish Siddu, so that DKS become CM, which BJP wants! BJP want to see DKS as CM, so that they can attack him with IT/ED raids & tarnish his image & bring shame to Congress. This is their Poli-tricks!!!
