Mangaluru: 46-year-old fisherman washed away by huge wave

Mangaluru, May 18: A fisherman who was into the sea for fishing was washed away by a huge wave at Guddekopla sea near Surathkal in the city.

The deceased is identified as Jayaraj (46). It is said that strong winds caused huge wave in the sea, the net also got entangled with the legs of Jayaraj and he was thrown into the sea. Another fisherman informed the matter to locals, who rushed and brought Jayaraj up from the water. But he had already breathed his last by then.

The deceased is survived by wife and daughter. After postmortem, Jayaraj’s body was handed over to this family.
