Puttur, May 18: Puttur MLA Ashok Rai has accused BJP leaders of pressuring the police, resulting in police brutality at the DySP office against individuals accused of placing a garland of footwear on the banner of BJP leaders. Rai stated that he intends to publicly reveal the names of those who urged the police to ruthlessly beat the accused.
In response to allegations made by Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat during a press conference in Puttur, claiming that Congress members had assaulted the accused, Rai firmly asserted that he has diligently ensured justice for those who have suffered injustice in his constituency. "I have instructed thorough investigations, the filing of FIRs, and the suspension of the guilty parties. Similar action has been taken against those responsible," he stated.
"Within two days, I will disclose the names of those who exerted pressure on the officers. The people of Puttur will be fully informed. Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja need not come here and comment on this matter. I have the capability to deliver justice regarding the incident that occurred in my constituency," he added.
