International unit of Kapu Hosa Marigudi Abhivridhi Samithi inaugurated in Boston

Boston, May 19: The international unit of ‘Kapu Hosa Marigudi Abhivridhi Samithi’ was inaugurated on May 14 in Boston, United States of America. The land of temples 'Tulunadu’ has another addition to its crown, Kaup Sri Hosa Marigudi Temple. The historic temple, tracing roots back to the Keladi kings of the 17th century, is being renovated in a grand scale. The devotees of the goddess are spread across the world and committees are formed in more than 18 countries to help the renovation of the temple, which is being built in Hoysala architecture.

The USA committee of nine members was inaugurated in a religious function by lighting lamps by All America Tulu Association (AATA) founder president, USA Committee president and a well-known community leader of Boston Bhaskar Sherigar, Shailashree Sherigar, Kapu Hosa Marigudi Abhivridhi Samithi’s president Sri Vasudeva Shetty, USA committee member Sharath Amin and Boston Tulukoota founder president, former president of Boston Kannada koota and famous community leader Dr Sudhakar Rao.

This function was attended virtually by NRI committee president Sarvotham Shetty from UAE, working president Shashidhar Shetty from UAE and presidents of other international committees. USA committee’s other members, former president of BANA Shirish Shetty from Atlanta, tech entrepreneur - founder & CEO of Digital Cubes - Santosh Udupi from Michigan, Ramdas Kulal from New York, new president of AATA - Shreevalli Rai from Florida, Siddharth Shetty from Texas, Sushma Jayachandra from Pennsylvania and founder of Tuluvere Chavadi Umesh Asaigoli from North Carolina also attended the inaugural function virtually.

The inauguration function was kicked-off by master of ceremonies Shailashree Sherigar by welcoming all the guests to the function. Dr Sudhakar Rao’s invocation set the stage for the religious frame of mind. Nine ‘Sumagaliyaru’ Puja Shetty, Dr Usha Rao, Ramya Jain, Lakshmi Puranik, Madhu Gaowda, Chandrika Rao, Chandra Biswas, Shailashree Sherigar and Sowmya Karunakar, representing ‘Navadurgas’ lit nine lamps as part of the inauguration. Central committee president Vasudeva Shetty and family traveled from India to Boston for this historic event. In his note of inauguration, Vasudeva Shetty narrated the history, interesting facts, significance, future plans for the development of the temple complex and requested everyone's support for this once in a millennium kind of opportunity. USA committee president Bhaskar Sherigar promised to spread the message throughout the United States of America and support. All the nine members of the USA committee introduced themselves and committed to be part of this great effort. A great media coverage was done by Ashwin Shetty, Sneha Shetty and Apoorva Suresh by capturing every moment. Home-cooked Tulunadu delicacies for lunch by volunteers was another highlight. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks by Shirish Shetty followed by lunch.
