Coimbatore, Jul 13: A CCTV footage showed a young man being thrashed to death in broad daylight by four men who were said to be drunk, here on Sunday July 10.

The man identified as Santosh Kumar (28), a painter by profession, was  knocked down and then repeatedly beaten. The gang also bludgeoned him with a huge stone.

The incident took place at 2 pm in broad daylight, but no one came forward to help Santosh.

He was admitted to the government hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday July 12.

The entire act was captured by a CCTV at a traffice junction near a police station.  The video showed two men standing on the road and deliberately coming in the way of a motorcyclist who lost balance and fell on the road.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Crime and Traffic S Nizamuddin said that the four men namely Krishnan, Ganeshan, Murugan and Ramachandran have been arrested.

Nizamuddin denied allegation of late response saying that the officials reached within five minutes after the incident took place.
