Unbearable heat in Mangaluru, Udupi, rain expected from May 20

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 20: Simmering heat continues to affect twin districts. On Friday, both districts had cloudy weather in the morning. Later mercury soared and the heat was unbearable.

According to the weather department, there is a possibility of rain in some parts of the two districts in the coming two days. Yellow alert is declared on May 22 and 23.

In Mangaluru, the highest recorded temperature on Friday was 34.3 deg C and minimum was 26.5 deg C.

Meanwhile, Monsoon winds have entered the south west region of Bay of Bengal, Nicobar Island and south Andaman Sea on Friday. The weather conditions are favourable for the winds to proceed further in coming four or five days.
