Udupi, May 21: U R Sabhapathi, a prominent Congress leader and former MLA, passed away after a brief illness here on Sunday, May 21.

U R Sabhapathi had served as the MLA for the Udupi constituency in 1994 and 1999, leaving a lasting impact on the region. 

Additionally, he actively participated in the national-level Fisherman Congress, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of the fishing community.
