Dubai, May 24: Konkan Yuva's annual general body meeting and executive committee election for 2023-2025 was a grand affair held on April 30 at Karama Winnys Restaurant Hall.
The president, Viyon Robin, delivered an engaging keynote, outlining the meeting's agenda, and providing a glimpse into Konkan Yuva's illustrious history as a start for the event. The general secretary, Lavita D'Souza, presented an insightful report from the previous annual general body meeting, detailing Konkan Yuva's active involvement in numerous initiatives such as job seeker seminars, family fests, blood donation drives, cricket and badminton tournaments, Khel Mhel, KY cares and collaborative events with other organizations such as YAM and SMMC.
Benzeeta D'Souza then presented the financial report and Vivian Fernandes conducted the election of the new committee with an utmost excitement. The newly elected members include Denzil Ralph Moras as president, Ashwin Pinto as vice president, Ivy Melisha D'Souza as general secretary, Jeevan Perreira as joint secretary, Sandra D'Souza as treasurer, Johnson Christo D'Souza as sports secretary, Brayan Lobo as cultural secretary, Sherul Mathew Nazareth as spiritual secretary, and Ninet Moras as media secretary, with Viyon Robin Veigas serving as immediate past president.
Following the election, a formal stage programme was held for the handover of the former core committee to the new, and an oath-taking ceremony followed. President Denzil Moras delivered an inspiring address, stressing the importance of preserving Konkan Yuva's legacy and encouraging all members to participate actively in every event and meeting. Outgoing president Viyon Robin expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the love and support he had received, wishing Konkan Yuva success in its future endeavours.
The event was graced by the presence of several prominent guests, including Joseph Mathias, owner of Merit Freight Forwarding, Wilfred Mathias, proprietor of Premier Gulf Advertising, and Nithin Castelino, vice coordinator of SMMC Dubai, among others. The day ended on a delightful note, with a celebratory meal and an atmosphere of camaraderie, as members reminisced and basked in the glory of the day's accomplishments.
