Modi raises issue of attacks on temples, activities of separatist elements with Australian PM

New Delhi, May 24 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that he raised the issue of attacks on temples and activities of separatist elements with his Australian counterpart.

Modi said that Australian PM assured him of taking strict action.

Making a joint statement with Anthony Albanese, PM Modi said, "Regarding the attacks on temples in Australia and the activities of separatist elements, we had talked earlier as well and we have talked today also."

The Prime Minister said that it is not acceptable to us that any element hurts the cordial relations between India and Australia by their thoughts or their actions.

"I want to thank PM Albanese for the steps he has taken in this regard.

"PM Albanese assured me once again today that he will take strict action against such elements in the future as well," PM Modi added.

Earlier this year, anti-social elements and alleged supporters of the separatist Khalistani movements were engaged in vandalisation of Hindu temples and other places of worship across Australia.

As part of his final leg of the three-nation tour, Modi arrived in Sydney on Monday night as a guest of the Australian government.

The Prime Minister addressed the Indian diaspora in Sydney on Tuesday at the Qudos Arena where he was accorded a rousing welcome by thousands of Indians across Australia.

At the grand event, Albanese described PM Modi as 'the boss'.

In 2014, Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Australia after Rajiv Gandhi, where he addressed 20,000 people at the Sydney SuperDome at Olympic Park and said that in coming years more Indian leaders will be visiting Down Under.

As a true Nationalist, we all condemn attack on places of worship of all religions. But, why the PM is silent when churches and mosques are attacked, burnt and razed by his own goons? Karma comes back to everyone, however powerful and ruthless one might be.

Attacks on Hindu temples in Australia & Canada are done by Indian origin people who are fighting India from foreign lands, which is highly condemnable. Before asking the Australian PM, why can't he ask himself why the churches are attacked in India and Christians are persecuted since the BJP came to power? He did not even condemn such atrocities happening in his own backyard. तुम करो तो सही, हम करे तो गलत .

Australian PM should raise the issue of attacks on churches, Gurudwaras Buddhist temples and mosques in India by Modi’s party. More importantly BJP activists attacking thier own Hindu temples in india too to fabricate case against minorities.

A PM visits other nations to dicuss on strategies, development and contribution to the world positively. Our PM has other priorities; safeguarding Hindus and temples abroad. Such a shame. When your own state of Manipur is burning you fail to utter a word or do anything in your powers to set it right. You forget your basic responsibilities and play fancy dress throughout India and the world.

When his own associates demolished Babri Masjid in India, instead of raising his voice he supported his team. When attack took place in religious places and minorities in India by his supporters he was with them. When his party supporters burnt australian citizens along with their children he or his predecessors never bothered. Now he expects justice. Nevertheless, even australian government take action against the culprits, does anyone think Almighty God will forgive and forget guilt of our people.
