Sullia: Derogatory post on Puttur MLA Rai – DySP resolves issue

Sullia, May 26: Police of city intervened and resolved the issue of a youth of Jayanagar in the taluk, who posted derogatory comments on Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai, on his social media account. Fan association of MLA Ashok Rai had urged police to ask the accused youth to remove the derogatory post.

The fan association members of Ashok Rai came across the derogatory post made by the youth of Sullia. They called the youth and asked him to remove the post. But the youth did not agree. Then the youths, members of the fan association of Rai, went to Sullia and asked the youth to remove the post. When a verbal argument ensued between the accused youth and other group, people started gathering and information was given to the police.

Both youth and other group members were taken to the police station. Puttur DySP Dr Gana P Kumar conducted an inquiry and resolved the issue amicably. It is learnt that the youth has removed the derogatory post from his account on social media.
