Opposition mounts pressure on Congress over delivering promised schemes

Bengaluru, May 26 (IANS): The opposition parties in Karnataka are mounting pressure on the newly-elected Congress government to deliver on the free schemes promised by it before the elections.

BJP MP Pratap Simha on Thursday called upon the people not to pay their electricity bills if they use below 200 units per month. One of Congress' major poll promises was giving 200 units of free power.

"You only pay for additional usage. If any condition is set for this scheme, we will launch an agitation," he said.

Simha added that all women heads of the family should be given Rs 2,000 and all women should be allowed to travel free of cost in state transport buses -- which were both part of Congress' poll promises.

Simha also claimed that people did not vote for the Congress, rather they have voted for the guarantee schemes.

"We have been defeated, but not destroyed. Fulfil the promises you (Congress) made. The promises made in Rajasthan have not been fulfilled till date," he said.

Former Chief Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy too vented his ire on Congress leaders for 'lying' to the people in order to come to power in Karnataka.

"We will not keep quiet if you are going to fool the people," he said.

Electorate did not vote Congress to deliver on promises. They just wanted change. They know that their leaders regardless of party affiliation are all equal opportunity offenders when it comes to competency. They are in politics for pursuing their personal agendas. Look at Congress, they excluded even discussion of Minsterial portfolio for UT Kadher by naming him speaker even before cabinet berth was discussed for which both CM and DyCM travelled to Delhi subsequently. They did not even want to consider his name for discussion in Delhi either. UT Kadher needs to understand that he represents Mangalore and not just minority communities in and nearby Ullal. He should have fought for a reasonable ministry.

BJP share this election was approx 35 % -- Last elections it was same -- 35 % --- So BJP is happy they retained vote share as in last elections of 35 % -- but got under 70 seats -- 30 lost deposits etc- SINCE NOTHING ACHIEVED STATE LEADERS ARE BOMBASTIC ON THIS 35 % -- -- Now what is to be answered is-- did PM MODI -- AMIT SHAH etc vociferous high profile -- high decibel --campaign help in this election -- --If it helped then STATE BJP on their own would have got less than 25 % -- as we assume about 10 % vote share was got because of this high profile campaign -- PM -- HM etc etc -- money power etc -- SO BJP has a long way to go with 25 % -- or less --- vote share actual

BJP is booted out by intelligent people of karnataka, for corruption and for the hate it is spreading within the state. The name BJP coined is development and progress, for these acts. Congress in other states have fullfilled their poll promises. People are watching and are appreciative about it. This is what making BJP nervous to the core. In coming days there will be a new Anna Team, with new influencers to ridicule congress, there will be continued haunting of opposition leaders through CBI, IT, ED, there will be media anchors who will more enacting drama in TV chnls. Image and brand building of PM excercise will see a quantum jump. All at tax payers and middle class cost.

The CM is now saying, that ' I will come out with details " Now he wants to check the financial implications.! Not before the elections ! Give blanket promises before elections, get elected and then come with conditions. This is nothing but taking the voters for granted and take them for a grand ride.

First things first or else frustration for all. Good things take time to come. Kumbaranige varusha, dhonege nimisha. So please wait patiencelly. Hurry makes worry. I totally agree with Mr, Kumaraswamy and he is absolutely is right. The gaurantees have to be rolled out immediately as promised by Siddu and DKS. Yesterday a Line man was trashed by slippers by a resident in Koppala for handing out a Electricity bill. Its all on national TV now. Ladies have even refused to pay for tickets in Government busses. Please do not bring in 15 lacs and all that crxp now. Please note , You have been voted to power on your freebies not on your policies or calibre. Also the cabinet berth to various communities too have to be allotted.

Mascarenhas, you also are one of the brainless like the Sanghi bhakts, maybe u r one of them. People elected new govt instead of 40% sarkar and not freebies. Congress might have given freebies incentive as they can do it later after Ministries are formed. They have to get rid of BJP leaning officers and govt personnel first. Pay your pending bills first and let us wait for July.

If all the CM Candidates in Karnataka had joined hands together all the Kannadigas would be rich enough that there was no need to give false promises by all parties.

Thirty candidates from BJP lost deposits incl several ministers lost their seats -- Congress surely under CM Sidduji who is committed to the downtrodden (already many of his schemes were later adopted by BJP ) in of course different names-- will ensure delivery of promises -- they are expecting instantaneous results out of frustration--- incl Support from GODI media -- ----SHRI SIDDU -- he has instructed the scrapped Indira canteen to be revived -- it was providing subsidised food -- but BJP scrapped the same -- they wanted to change Indira canteen name which thereafter was forgotten -- meaning scheme itself -- Now Congress won not mainly because of the so called freebies -- as made out ---- THE RSS -- BJP BRAHMIN nexus was ousted ---- all down trodden -- other castes came together -- High inflation -- hindutva politics -- no jobs -- corruption -- leaders arrogance -- THAT RAHUL GANDHI who undertook massive ultra marathon walk BHARAT JODO -- is also a reason -- ensured BJP drubbing -- --- now spin doctors put the reason FREEBIES -- Good luck to the protestors -- as public anger is still fresh -- BUT BEWARE GODI MEDIA --
