Mumbai: Laxman Poojary appointed NCP election officer

Mumbai, May 6: Veteran Tulu Kannadiga, leader of National Congress party, Laxman C Poojary has been appointed as NCP’s Mumbai north central district election officer. It was announced by Mumbai division NCP president Dileep Valse Patil in a press release.

Laxman Poojary is the son of Mulki Chitrapur based Chennappa Poojary and Janaki Poojary couple. He is an experienced politician and has indulged in social work. He had contested for BMC polls in 1997.

He was a member of Mada, member of western railway board, former president of Chitrapu Billava Sangha, vice president of Mulki Billava Sangha Mumbai committee and had contributed for naming Santacruz east Gurunarayana road and the construction of Billavara Bhavan.
