Karkala, May 27: In a tragic incident that is reported from Kemmannu Aanthottu of Nitte village in the taluk, a nine-year-old girl died as the saree that was used as swing got wound up around her neck and strangled her.
Manvi (9), daughter of Laxman Poojary, is the unfortunate victim of this incident.
On Friday, May 26 evening, Manvi was playing on the saree turned swing, along with Deeksha, her neighbour. While playing, the saree got entangled around her neck and she got asphyxiated. Though she was rushed to the a community health centre for emergency treatment, the doctor at the center declared her dead.
A case in this connection is registered in the rural police station.
