New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) Automobile major Tata Motors Friday reported a marginal decline of 0.94 percent in its global sales for June including that of Jaguar Land Rover brand at 89,846 units as compared to 90,702 units in the like period of last year.
"Global sales of Jaguar Land Rover in June 2011 were 20,358 vehicles, higher by 1 percent," the company said in a statement.
Individually, Land Rover sales were up 22 percent in June at 16,320 units while Jaguar sales for the month slumped by 40 percent at 4,038 units.
Sales in the domestic market were also down by 21 percent in June -- these included sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat cars at 24,203 units.
"Global sales of all passenger vehicles were at 44,561 units in June 2011, lower by 12 percent," the statement said.
HOwever, the global sales of all commercial vehicles brands like Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range were up by 13 percent in June at 45,285 units as compared to the corresponding period last year.
The company's cumulative sales in the fiscal were higher by 7 percent when compared to the like period of last year at 264,488 units.
"Cumulative sales for commercial vehicles for the fiscal are 130,184 units, a growth of 17 percent," the statement further said adding that the cumulative sales in passenger vehicle segment was down by two percent for the fiscal at 134,304 units.
