Udupi: Civic worker returns gold ring found in garbage to rightful owner

Udupi, May 30: A staff of cleaning unit of the waste handling team of the district has returned the gold finger ring that was found in the garbage to its rightful owner.

A person living under the limits of Shankaranarayana gram panchayat of Byndoor taluk had lost the finger ring weighing two grams. Even after searching for the ring in the entire house, the person could not find it. The person conveyed the matter to the waste collectors that come from panchayat every day and asked them to return the finger ring in case they find the same.

Accordingly, Devaki, cleaning staff working at the SLRM solid waste management unit at Moodubailoor got alerted as she saw a glittering thing in the waste while segregating the same. She removed the finger ring and informed the person immediately.

The person who lost the finger ring, officials of panchayat and public have lauded the honesty of Devaki.
