Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School celebrates World Environment Day

Mangaluru, Jun 6: On June 5, World Environment Day was commemorated at St Agnes CBSE School. The students of grade VIII presented a meaningful programme on the significance and awareness of the day.

The programme was graced by Sr Edna Furtado AC, the chief guest, Sr Maria Sarika AC principal, teachers and students. The programme began with a prayer service invoking divine blessings. The significance of the day was highlighted to create awareness among the students.

The students performed a skit on saving the environment, a dance on the theme of ‘Green India, Clean India’ was performed and a spectacular mime show depicting the importance of water was presented by the students.

Sr Edna congratulated the students for their meaningful performance and urged every student to know how important it is to save nature. Following this year’s theme on ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ she told the students to take this theme seriously and apply productive means to avoid using plastics.

The programme was compered by Nidhi Nirvani, Lian Sara welcomed the gathering while Saanvi Sudhakar delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was brought to a closure by singing the school Anthem.
