Indore, Jul 18: A weekend get away for a family turned into a nightmare as three members of the family drowned in a waterfall in Patalpani near Indore on Sunday July 17.

The water level suddenly rose due to flood caused by the recent spell of rainfall.

According to police, the family was visiting the weekend getaway for the first time. Five members of the family were standing beneath the 300 feet high falls when they were caught unaware as water flow increased suddenly.

The family got stuck on a rock in the middle of the swirling water. While one of them slipped others also got pulled along with him.

On an alarm raised by an eye witness villagers rushed to their rescue. However, two of them were rescued while the other three drowned.

The victims are identified as Nanuram (25) of Badnawar, Anishq (18) Chavi (22), Chandrashekhar Rathi (55) and Mudita Rathi (22) of Harda

Only Chavi's body has been fished out.

Use discretion when watching this video. It is a breath stopper. It is never a good idea for people to picnic on a riverbed particularly during monsoon.
