Udupi: Gold theft from house - Man sentenced to four years in prison

Udupi, Jun 13: The Chief CJ and CJM Court of the city has handed down a four-year prison sentence to the accused involved in a gold theft case, in accordance with the law.

The accused has been identified as Santhosh Poojary. On January 21, 2022, he had entered the house of Pramila Bangera in Amabagil, Kakkunje, and stolen gold items. A case was registered at the Udupi police station, and a charge sheet was filed in court.

After conducting the necessary inquiry, the guilt of the accused was proven.

Judge Vignesh Kumar of the CJ and CJM court sentenced Santhosh Poojary to four years of imprisonment and slapped on him a fine of Rs 2000.

Senior assistant public prosecutor Jayanthi had presented arguments against the accused in the case.
