Three terrorists in Bengal's Siliguri: IB official


Kolkata, July 19 (IANS) All police stations in northern West Bengal's Siliguri town and adjacent areas in Darjeeling district have been put on high alert following intelligence inputs that three terrorists - two from Bangladesh and another from Pakistan - have entered the town, said an IB officer.

"A central agency has informed us a couple of days back that the terrorists have moved into Siliguri," said the Intelligence Bureau officer.

The terrorist from Bangladesh have been identified as Habib Khan and Golam Rasul Miyan. The militant from Pakistan is Mohammad Shoukat.

"The three entered Siliguri ten days back," he said.

Police have stepped up vigil in bus stops, market places, shopping malls and public places. Police men have also been posted in auditoria and cinema halls.
