Mangaluru, Jun 14: The Moolageni Vokkalu Rakshana Vedike (R), which started with the members of only 25 families in 2008, has now grown to a strength of 3500 members because of the goodwill and cooperation.
The order that was issued by the government of Karnataka in 2011 was put on stay by some of the Mulidars though the high court of Karnataka. The HC, after listening to the detailed arguments of applicants and plaintiffs, issued a judgment in favour of government of Karnataka and the Moolagenidars.
The HC judgment clearly states that, Moolidars are having the right only to collect the revenue of the land from those people who have been enjoying the possession of the land continuously during the British Governance after the end of Vijayanagara dynasty, and they are not the owners of the land.
The administrative committee members of the forum would like to congratulate all those lawyers who presented their arguments effectively on behalf of all the Mulagenidars.
The foum is grateful to the judges who after reviewing the length and breadth of the law in detail, delivered the best judgment.
The forum is earnestly requesting all the Mulagenidars to come forward and contribute generously to pay the fees of the advocates which has gone beyond expectations, who argued tremendously in the court to get a judgment in favour and thus reduce the financial burden which is levied.
To know more details in this regard, a meeting has been organized on June 18 at Don Bosco Hall, Mangaluru between 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Needful information will be given by eminent lawyers and people’s representatives, and so the victims and the members are hereby requested to take part in this seminar in large numbers and clear their doubts.
