Udupi: Theft of 7 solar powered streetlight batteries worth Rs 35,000 in Thonse GP reported

Udupi, June 14: People of Padu Thonse grama panchayath filed a complaint of theft of solar light batteries on June 9.

Plaintiff Kamala (45) and her husband Golpal panchayth development officer had installed solar powered streetlights in Padu Thonse. The batteries of streetlights have been stolen and over a month has passed since the theft occurred.

Locals have filed a complaint in Malpe police station alleging that Prajwal, a resident of Kunjibettu had stolen seven batteries. The stolen batteries are valued at approximately Rs. 35,000.

A complaint has been filed with police station and the police are investigating the case.
