Udupi: Three drug peddlers including student held, ganja worth Rs 75,000 seized

Udupi, June 14: District police raided High Point Heights apartment in Manipal police station limits on Wednesday, June 14 and took into custody a fourth year MIT student Shashank (25) and his companion Karkala resident Adil (36) and also confiscated 300 grams of ganja from them.

The police also took into custody Naushad Karkala (27) on Hiriadka – Karkala road on the basis of information provided by Adil and confiscated another 1.100 kg of ganja from him.

Investigations revealed that Adil and Naushad were in contact with Muscat resident Imran Khan alias Shakeel, the kingpin, selling ganja from Uppala, Kasaragod. 

Udupi SP has directed Manipal police to form a police team under the leadership of Manipal police inspector and release a look out notice against the prime accused, Imran Khan. Investigations of the drug network has continued.

Adi Udupi resident Suman Shettigar (25) was arrested a week ago and 300 grams of ganja was confiscated from him. Cases are being registered against students and others and legal action is also being taken against them.

The operation was conducted under guidance of district SP Akshay Hakay Machindra by additional SP Siddalingappa T with team members comprising Dinakar K P, DySP Udupi, Devaraj T V police inspector Manipal, station staff ASI Shailesh Kumar, head constables Sukumar Shetty, Abdul Razak and C Imran, constables Chennesh and Anandaiah.

    actually the majority community guys are very much involved in drug dealing...but as we know the cowards never come in front and the khaki used to cover them up during the blue j pigs regime....but now as congress in in power....no one can escape...regardless of religion and caste all will be brought to book....
