Mangaluru: Withdrawal of anti-conversion act - MLA Vedavyas Kamath threatens protest

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Jun 15: Vedavyas Kamath, the MLA of Mangaluru South, firmly stated that the decision of the Congress party government to repeal the anti-conversion Act, which was enacted during the tenure of the BJP government, will face staunch opposition.

"Conversion is a social menace that can potentially lead to the downfall of our society. Hence, our government had passed the Act against forced conversions. By withdrawing this Act, what message does the Congress party send to society? Does it encourage open conversion by luring and threatening individuals? Does it provide a platform for miscreants?" Kamath questioned.

He further alleged, "The Congress party is paving the way for those who engage in forced conversions. They are repeatedly supporting activities that aim to disrupt Hindu society."

Kamath issued a warning, stating, "The Congress party must reconsider its decision to withdraw the anti-conversion Act. Otherwise, the entire Hindu society will protest against it."

There were very many other avenues if at all forced conversions was happening -- Police acts etc - For stray cases nobody brings in acts -- creates more damages in society fabric --- Now the just ousted BJP -- for getting a few votes started playing communal card -- -- Needlessly introduced a Act without any debate -- This act allowed goons to enter into places of worship ---- disrupting prayers of people and of various faiths who have gathered peacefully without any diabolic intentions -- next 1000 years there is no threat to any religion -- only a handful of trouble makers indulge/ propagate -- in such fears --

The voluntary changing of religion by an individual meant your name was up on a public notice board and the goons from the Bajrang Dal would be at your doorstep in strength to terrorize you. This does not happen or have a place in any civilized society or country, so the Congress government has taken a correct and proper step of bringing Karnataka on par with civilized society.

Conversion takes place in the heart, only upon FREE will of the person, hence the issue of violence very rarely occurs in Christian societies. In Ulhas-Nagar a suburb of Bombay over 30,000 Sindhi Hindus have converted to Christianity. Even the sister of L.K Advani and her husband Gul Kriplani have converted to Christianity. In the North Indian states since conversions are banned there are many thousands of people who are wanting to change their faith but cannot do so, read the bible, go to church and pray to Jesus are called "Krista Bhakts". In the fullness of time they could get full communion with with Christians. His fears of violence are unfounded as for 350 years Christians were fed to hungry lions, they were persecuted and killed in very, very large numbers for their faith but very, very rarely have you ever seen Christian retaliation. See what's happening in Manipur and you will realize that we practice tolerance.

Thier hindu relatives only talk about mata mantra and nothing else. Only Christian helped them with food clothes for years. We never asked them to convert. It’s a shame on you talking arrogant. Sharath, In the first place you should give chappals, kombanas, cheddies and some food grains to your hindu so called dalit brethren before writing nonsense comment. If, this country has remained underdeveloped and majority are poor, it's just because of people of your mentality. Go and visit all the orphanages, homes for the aged, sick and abandoned people in and around Mangalore and see who are the inhabitants there and who are serving them. Just barking from top of the tree will not make any difference. Do you see any Christian asking help from your temple treasury but see who is visiting churches seeking financial help particularly in remote areas. Keep your chappals well preserved, you might need them one day. No one can convert anyone if one is deeply rooted in their own faith irrespective of the situation one faces.
