New Delhi, Jul 20: Former union telecom minister A Raja, lodged in jail for his alleged involved in the 2G spectrum scam, said on Wednesday July 20 that arguments in the case should begin only after the probe into the scam is over.
Expressing his opposition to the scheduled hearing of the case on July 21, Raja along with former telecom secretary and co-accused Siddharth Behura said that the third chargesheet in the case was yet to be filed and therefore the hearing must be postponed.
Special CBI judge O P Saini was scheduled to begin the hearing of the case from Thursday July 21.
The probe is still on as the CBI quizzed Raja just two days ago, his counsel argued.
"Raja was illegally interrogated by CBI which shows investigation is on. Why court did the court allow CBI to quiz him if the probe had been completed?" Raja's counsel asked.
He also demanded a formal statement before the court that the CBI had completed its investigations.
