Bantwal, Jun 17: “The BJP condemns the decision of Congress party to repeal the anti-conversion law passed by the earlier BJP government to prevent forceful religious conversion. Withdrawal of APMC Act, deletion of the lessons of Savarkar and Hedgewar from the school curriculum,” said Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik.
He was speaking in the news conference called at BJP office, B C Road.
“Withdrawal of the anti-conversion Act might bring about unrest in the society again. Farmers were permitted to sell their produce at all the places by means of APMC Act. The Congress government was unjust towards farmers by withdrawing it. The Congress government is into revengeful politics by deleting the lessons of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar and RSS founder Hedgewar. We are prepared to protest if the Congress government does not change their decisions,” he said.
BJP Bantwal block committee president Devappa Poojary, chief secretary Ravish Shetty Karkala, Dombayya Arala, BJP district Yuva Morcha chief secretary Sudarshan Baja and local party leaders were present.
