Mangaluru, Jun 18: “The High Court of Karnataka’s decision to uphold the constitutional validity of the Karnataka Conferment of Ownership on Mulageni or Volamulageni Tenants Act, 2011, is really appreciable. As of now the legal hurdles is been cleared," said senior advocate of the High Court of Karnataka B L Acharya.
He was speaking during the Mulageni Okkalu Rakshana Vedike's meeting here on Sunday, June 18.
“There will be no problem for the people of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to file applications to obtain complete rights on their properties,” he added.
He also said that for decades Mulageni Okkalu Rakshana Vedike were struggling to obtain justice. But, now the Vedike has got justice.
He also lauded the High Court judge for pronouncing the historic verdict. "It is social justice given to the people," he said.
He recalled that B V Acharya had strived hard to get justice.
Advocates M R Ballal and Nadish Bushan, president of Mulageni Okkalu Rakshana Vedike Maxim D' Silva and Sandesh Prabu among others were present.
