Shivamogga, Jun 19: A tragic accident occurred at Agumbe Ghat in Tirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district, resulting in the spot death of a biker and injury of a girl riding pillion when their motorcycle was struck by a bus.
The collision took place between a bus traveling from Mangaluru to Shivamogga and a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
The bike rider was killed on the spot and the girl seated at the back was seriously injured in the accident.
The deceased boy is identified as Shashank (21). Nirimita (19), the pillion rider is said to be seriously injured and admitted to a private hospital in Manipal.
Two ambulances were rushed to the spot.
The deceased rider is believed to be a resident of Barkur.
A case has been registered in Hebri police station.
