Bengaluru, Jun 19: Karnataka’s IT Minister and chairman of KPCC communication and social media wing, along with its co-chairman Ramesh Babu have lodged a police complaint against BJP National President J P Nadda, IT Cell chief Amit Malviya and Arun Sood, Chandigarh unit’s State President, for dissemination of "malicious, false and incendiary content’’ against Congress party and its senior leaders.

Priyank Kharge and Ramesh Babu, who personally visited the High Grounds Police Station in the city on Monday, have in their complaint alleged that the BJP leaders were spreading information with the "intention to promote enmity between groups and incite as well as provoke’’ for offences under Sections 505(2), 152(A), 120(B) and 34 of IPC and other provisions of law.

The Congress leaders have in their complaint have furnished copies of video content by Amit Malviya against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with malicious and false 3D animated videos to tarnish his and the party’s reputation and also instige communal discord.

The objectionable video shared by BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya on June 17 been endorsed by BJP National President J P Nadda and Arun Sood, BJP Chandigarh unit president and shared in their twitter handle.

Kharge and Babu, have in their complaint, accused the BJP leaders of depicting Rahul Gandhi as having "anti-national objective aimed to deter India’s ascension as a global economic power house’’ by presenting a ‘’foreign voice-over.’’

"It is pertinent to mention that the video employs mimicry to misrepresent Rahul Gandhi and the INC’s views and projects the party as well as the leaders as an anti-national element. It features altered versions of Shri Rahul Gandhi’s speeches, propagating false narratives. The animated video is created with the undeniable intention of promoting enmity in the society and to sow discord among the people,’’ the complaint said.

Further, the complaint claims that the "video seeks to link Rahul Gandhi and the INC with foreign elements acting against the national interests. The video alleges Rahul Gandhi’s and INC’s association with 'international media' as part of the plot to dismantle India, showcasing newspapers with headlines spreading the 'anti-India narrative' and depicting the rise of 'Hindu Extremism'. Another worrisome aspect is the animated misrepresentation of Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with people of the Islamic faith. The derogatory portrayal will undoubtedly create hatred between people of different religions and propagate communal disharmony,’’ it said.

"The video showcases an inflammatory score, a distortion of the song 'Govinda' from the movie 'Sarkar' (2005). The lyrics have been altered to "Thodunga" (I will break), aiming to provoke and stir communal sentiments, a tactic that is morally repugnant and legally impermissible. This further cements the fact that all of this is an extensively thought out and well hatched conspiracy of the BJP and its leaders to commit the illegal acts. In fact, Rahul Gandhi is shown against the backdrop of Manhattan cityscape, implying an association with foreign elements acting against the national interests. This false accusation is not only defamatory but also poses a threat to national security by sowing seeds of distrust among the populace,’’ the complaint said.

The complaint says, "Arun Sood’s tweet, in particular, that reads “more dangerous are people who are pulling strings of RaGa like Sam P. Staunchly anti-India, they leave no stone unturned to defame India overseas, just to embarrass Hon’ble PM”- demonstrates the malicious and criminal intention in creating and publishing this animated video.

The animated video is created and published at the behest of Amit Malviya, Arun Sood, BJP State President in Chandigarh, and BJP National President J P Nadda who are all implicated in this criminal act. The video serves as an audacious attempt to defame Gandhi and create discord among the populace for their political gain.’’

"These transgressions by the BJP’s key leaders such as. Amit Malviya, J P Nadda and Arun Sood warrant stringent legal action. Their actions have not only defamed the INC and Rahul Gandhi but also pose a threat to the communal harmony of our nation. The activities of the accused cross the bounds of political rivalry and enter the realm of criminality, furthermore, the BJP’s attempts at spreading misinformation and creating enmity between groups as well as voters clearly amounts to a conscious effort to create an atmosphere of communal tension and social disharmony,’’ the complaint says.

Urging the police to take cognisance of the offences and take appropriate
action under the full extent of law, the Congress complaint goes on to say, "Considering the severity of these offences, it is crucial that an FIR is registered immediately for offences punishable under Sections 505(2), 153(A), 120(B) & 34 and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code 1860 (as well as other provisions of law).

These actions represent a calculated effort to distort the truth, tarnish the reputation of INC as well as its senior leaders, and disseminate harmful, prejudicial narratives, thus creating a potential for social discord.’’

Whether the police complaint succeeds or not, police will surely investigate and summon these BJP bigwigs. I suppose they too deserve the same medicine as they dished out to Rahul Gandhi and others, Yes, Congress tackle BJP by adopting their own tactics. It'll be fun.

This is double engine development of double engine BJP. People are responding to this double engine development of BJP state by state now by dumping BJP realizing and seeing BJP’s anti constitutional developments. People can see clearly congress’s promises benefitting them and BJP’s hateful narrative of jealousy against congress.
